ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Chris. I started Kea Studios basically to try and make a living making things I think are cool.

Back in high school I went from building robots and eco-houses, to 3D printers, and now I’m focused on creating things that make people smile. As you can probably guess I’m a bit of a train nerd; I love the engineering, the history, and the way they connect people and places through time.

I’m in my early twenties and based in Auckland, New Zealand. I’m a bit of a jack of all trades: I love designing things end-to-end, from drawing up circuit boards in KiCad, to 3D printing mechanical parts I’ve modelled in Fusion 360, to writing firmware in C++ and backend server code in TypeScript. For me, the fun is in bringing all the pieces together and making something useful.
